Yay reached back in S'pore this morning at 2am. Needless to say i couldn't wake up in time for sch later in the morning. Oh well.
Anyway tomorrow's a sch holiday courtesy of Drong, but its also my engreesh orals. So I'm actually going to bother practicing a little for it later. Waw...Reportin' time's at 1:55 so im gonna make an effort to reach sch early. Must do well for this!
Well my trip in hk was quite eventful. The moment I touched down in hk I was whisked off to a restaurant in a far off place that registered a meter reading of 250++ in hk dollars. That amounts to roughly 50 bucks in Sing. O_o but apparently all my relatives we
dying to meet me, and since I only got out at 8 there wasn't much time to waste getting there.
Well it turns out that most of them couldn't turn up, and only half got there in the end. But half still equated to a good 15+ people, and my mom was having a grand time talking to all the ah-yees and ah-maas in an overexuberantly loud voice. I, on the other hand, was on the receiving end of a massive rapid cantonese gunfire. Met a few cousins, one girl was really cool but her bro was away at camp in sch, and some aunt slipped and fell so she and her family couldn't make it, and so on.
Point to note: 2 of my cousins are rather hot. Sis if ur reading this u know who im talkin' abt ^_^ Go hk girls!
Well it was simply POURING in hk the past 2 days. Like everywhere we went it was raining. My jeans were soaked thru up the knees and I was almost always underneath an umbrella. But it was quite okay la, we went and watched the cremation of my uncle who had passed away (which I found out was the main point of the trip) and my family with my other uncle and my grand-aunt who is my grandmother's brother's wife came along with us. She took care of most of the proceedings, and my mom was really grateful.
When we initially went to her house to pick her up, we were amazed at where she lived. It was at the top of a flat in a seedier district, basically the flat roof of something akin to a HDB building. It was haphazardly constructed and looked like it would give way any moment, what with all the wind and rain going on. Even in such a developed city like hk, the poor are still really everywhere. But looking out from her
penthouse I saw the same type of home on every single building around. They call it
tin pang, which means sky-girder (crudely translated).
Anyway after we had lunch and everything my sis and I went shopping! My sister brought me to all these cool places and yeah I bought a nice bag, a pair of jeans and hk-fashion shirts + tees. And yesterday I went and got a 512 SD card for 248 bux. Blew about 1k hk dollars in total. Wo0t.
